Who it is for
Companies with software that works but that nobody wants to touch any more: the original developer is gone, updates have stalled, every change breaks something else. Or companies whose system is fine but needs to grow with the business.
What you get
- An assessment of the codebase: what to keep, fix or rewrite, with priorities.
- Updates and security: dependencies, libraries and servers brought up to date, vulnerabilities fixed.
- Performance and stability: slow screens and recurring errors found and fixed.
- New features built on a cleaned-up foundation, without starting from scratch.
- Documentation, so the software no longer depends on a single person.
How I work on it
Before changing anything I read the code, run it in a test environment and protect the critical points with tests and backups. Only then do I intervene, in small steps and frequent releases, so the people using it every day are not disrupted.
When an old part needs replacing, I run it alongside the new one and move over gradually: daily work continues and risk stays low.
Technology
I work on TypeScript, Angular, Node.js and PHP projects, with PostgreSQL and MySQL databases. For other technologies I tell you straight away whether I can do a good job or whether it is better to involve someone else.
Time and cost
We start with an assessment of the existing code, at a cost agreed in advance. The outcome is a prioritised list of work with estimates; then you choose whether to proceed as a project or with an ongoing support agreement.
